Op het Kootwijkerzand streden de vijf Nederlandse clubs om de eer en om de glimmende beker mee naar huis te nemen. <br><\/strong><br>Het is een mooi item om op je schoorsteenmantel te zetten. Ook al heeft bijna niemand in Nederland meer een openhaard met daar omheen een schoorsteenmantel, die prachtige Interclubbokaal wil elke vereniging wel graag winnen. Het is immers de imposantste beker die bestaat binnen ori\u00ebnterend Nederland. De handvaten bestaan uit twee klassieke, gekromde lauwertakken en verraden dat de beker al vele jaren meegaat. Het was dan wel zonnig, maar de temperatuur kwam niet boven de 2 graden Celsius uit. Na de start nabij de uitkijktoren werden de lopers direct de zandvlakte op \u2018gekatapulteerd\u2019 en was gelijk uiterste concentratie vereist om \u2018in de kaart\u2019 te komen. Vervolgens gingen de routes zigzag over de zandverstuiving om te eindigen met diverse posten in het geaccidenteerde bos. Daarnaast werden de winnaars van de Nationale Competitie gehuldigd en samen op de foto gezet.
